Gerald Durrell’s famous Corfu trilogy lent itself beautifully to this post. College is, indeed, like family and for the younger pupils, this family included also the Mounted Police and the K9 Section of the force. The children learnt about the horses and how the police take care of them. They heard how the dogs were specially trained to smell out certain things and not others.
