Kandinsky believed that πππππππ and πβππππ represented πππππ and ππππππππ. In fact he often listened to music while painting his masterpieces. πΌπ

He painted many colourful landscapes with unrealistic colours such as purple grass or yellow skies. He stylised most of the subjects in his paintings using simplistic forms with a black outline. One of these landscapes, named πππ£ππ¨πππ₯π π¬ππ©π π ππ§πππ£ ππ€πͺπ¨π sold for $26.4 million at Sothebyβs in London 2017.

Students were asked to choose a picture of a simple landscape and simplify it to stylised colourful shapes while listening to their favourite music. Here is the result...
