MEDE Online Sportsfest
Monday 1 June 2020
Over the past month MEDE has organised an online Sportfest. The current third scholastic term is traditionally associated with many sporting events organised in schools including Sports Days, Sportsfests and Athletic Meetings amongst others. Hence, this event will serve to compensate for the unprecedented circumstances that we are living and still give the opportunity to students to take part.
The event is split in three age categories, namely:
Primary (Year 5-6),
Middle (Year 7-8) and
Secondary (Year 9-11).
Students have been invited to follow the MEDE Online Sportsfest facebook page daily to check out on the day’s set challenge.
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three boys and top three girls in every category as well as points allocated to the school they represent. For this reason, students wore their school’s PE shirt will be accepted.
St Edward's is proud to have a few of it's students participate in this event and have been successful.
Craig Pellicano in Year 5Y managed to get a silver on Day 1 and 2, bronze medals for day 4 and 5 which he is very happy and proud of especially since he gave a helping hand to place St Edward's in 4th place for Year 5 and 6 with all the competing schools.
Sven Azzopardi in Year 6Y won a bronze medal in the football header category.
John Paul Felice in Year 4X also won a gold for the burpees challenge and a bronze for the standing broad jump challenge. This put St Edward's College 3rd on the medals table for Year 3 and 4.
A huge WELL DONE to all the students who took part and enjoyed the challenges set each day.
