Remembrance Day 2020

In Year 6 we have been thinking Remembrance Day, which is also called Armistice Day. We learnt that it marks the day World War One ended, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, in 1918. A two-minute silence is held at 11am to remember the people who have died in wars. Remembrance Sunday is also marked each year, this falls on the second Sunday in November.

We made our own poppies and a poppy wreath which we then took to the Eco Garden to display to remember those fallen during wars and those who still go to war to protect us and our future generations. We observed a one-minute silence together to think and reflect.

November 11, 2020, Armistice day, marks 102 years since the end of the War.
