β€œWe express ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.”

For several years, IB students have participated in a public speaking course and debate academy, offered by the
English-Speaking Union of Malta (ESU Malta). The public speaking course helps students develop their π™˜π™€π™£π™›π™žπ™™π™šπ™£π™˜π™š and learn the skills needed to become π™šπ™›π™›π™šπ™˜π™©π™žπ™«π™š π™˜π™€π™’π™’π™ͺπ™£π™žπ™˜π™–π™©π™€π™§π™¨ and engaging presenters.
The skills they develop through the course come in handy for IB 6th Form students as they are assessed via oral presentations in their studies of English, a foreign language of their choice and Theory of Knowledge.
Students are also regularly asked to present their research from their investigations in other subjects in the form of a Viva Voce. This helps give IBDP students the practice and preparation to excel under pressure in similar situations at University and beyond.

First year IBDP science students also take part in the Group 4 project. This is a collaborative project where science students from different disciplines present research on an interdisciplinary subject.

The aim of this project is to promote interdisciplinary understanding and two-way communication, where a student who is considered an expert in one experimental science must be able to explain concepts to other students who do not have a background in the subject, as well as to work collaboratively to produce a cohesive presentation.
