Year 10 Chemistry – Electrolysis

Friday 6 March 2020

In the last two weeks Year 10 Chemistry students have been learning about Electrolysis. The group learnt how this is used: to split up water molecules, in the extraction of certain metals and in obtaining useful products from the electrolysis of sea water. Experiments were carried out to explore this further. After observing and discussing their results, students thought of how they could apply this to electroplating and enthusiastically planned their own experiments for future investigations.
