Fekruna Maggie attends Summer School

Summer fun at SEC is not just for fun but also for education.

Our students engage in various activities which promote educational values. One of them, ‘Saving Our Blue’ campaign organised by the Ministry for the Environment Climate Change and Planning, has started this week. The main aim of the campaign is to help build children’s knowledge as well as awareness of marine life and the problems caused by marine litter.

Awareness is raised when the children watch interesting episodes featuring Fekruna Maggie who, together with her other marine friends, faces a number of challenges connected with sea pollution and, unfortunately, people’s negligence. After each episode, the children answer the questions which appear in the episodes and discuss other related issues with their teachers. They also engage in various follow-up activities, just like our Year 1s who created beautiful posters ‘Save the turtles’.
