Puppetry, Role Play
and a
Love for Books
Friday 14 February 2020
KG1Z Tulips held a puppet show in class to portray the story of the little red hen after they covered it together in class. The children were amused and attentive as they used puppets for their literacy activity. Through such activities the group could discuss the story line together and have a chance to meet the characters themselves. The enthusiasm of the students, as they used their imaginative and communication skills, could be felt. Meanwhile KG2Y used stick puppet masks they made themselves to narrate a story. This activity helped the students develop their chosen characters as they wished as well as taught them the importance of empathy and self-expression. A love for stories and books is the first vital step to a lifelong positive approach to reading.
