Fine Motor Skills

Emphasis is placed on the development of fine motor skills throughout our KG year groups. The teachers plan for a number of hands-on learning activities which target the development of their pupil’s tiny hands and fingers. The ultimate aim is to develop the muscles to be able to function in a coordinated and controlled method. This way, students will, through practice, be able to handle and manipulate tools (regardless of their size and shape) and in time be able to confidently use a pencil. Such creative activities, as shown in the photos, vary from the use of textures to gluing to the use of scissors, pegs, paperclips, tweezers and much more. Here the students also engage and are driven to focus on what they are doing.
